Etex operates over 160 facilities in 45 countries. We are globally organised and locally embedded to meet the specific expectations of every client: architect, construction company, distributor, contractor, installer, specifier and homeowner. Our sites provide all building blocks to bring our lightweight solutions to the world: innovation and technology centres, quarries, factories and full technical support for plasterboard, fibre cement, fire protection, insulation and offsite modular building.

For another year in a row, Etex recorded an outstanding financial performance in 2023, with a revenue increase of 2.5% at EUR 3.808 billion, and a REBITDA improvement by 10.4% to EUR 712 million, its highest value ever. The net profit (Group share) also increased to EUR 267 million, a 26.8% improvement compared to 2022. The net recurring profit (Group share) improved, at EUR 278 million, +1.1% year-on-year.

Alphonse Emsens founds the Eternit fibre cement factory in Haren near Brussels in 1905 after acquiring the manufacturing technology
from Austrian industrialist Ludwig Hatschek

 

2011


Etex takes over the European and Latin American gypsum activities of the French group Lafarge.

 

2020


Etex finalises its strategic shift by completely exiting its Residential Roofing activities and establishes the New Ways Division driving its modular and offsite ambitions.
