When two specialists with complementary products join forces, the sky is the limit. Dutch firm Lapinus is home to a collaborative R&D facility specialising in PROMAXON-D applications. It develops raw materials for automotive brake pads and supplies them to manufacturers across the globe.
Lapinus is a 45-employee subsidiary of the 12,000-strong ROCKWOOL GROUP. The company found the perfect innovation partner in Etex, and vice versa.
Not an unlikely combination
Lapinus has strong customer connections as well as the knowledge of how to apply PROMAXON-D in the automotive industry – more than enough reason for Etex to start a partnership with the Dutch company.
Etex engineers and manufactures an extremely consistent, customer-centric product, while Lapinus excels in the application and combination of materials. Together, both companies have doubled sales of PROMAXON-D.
The perfect match to enable millions to brake safely
As an Etex partner, part of Lapinus’ job is to visit customers to understand what drives them. This information assists Etex in aligning product development and quality management processes with the dynamic needs of the automotive industry.
Millions of brake pads rely on PROMAXON-D. The material withstands high temperatures and performs well under them – when drivers brake, the temperature can exceed 500 degrees. Next to that, PROMAXON-D also has noise-reducing properties. This does not only contribute to driver comfort, it also prevents expensive and unnecessary maintenance. The number one reason why people go to the garage for service is brake noise.
