First based in London and then in Paris, NATO – the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation – moved its headquarters to Brussels, Belgium in 1967. Over the next thirty years, the Alliance grew. Its headquarters could not keep up and the facilities did not meet 21st century standards. The decision to build a new headquarters was made in 1999 at the Washington summit.
As an organisation that safeguards the freedom and security of its members, it goes without saying that its new HQ should do the same for its occupants. To help protect the organisation’s 500 daily visitors, its numerous employees and the environment as well, Etex company Promat was chosen to supply fire protection materials.
