In South Africa, we work on production, sales, research and development spread over three sites: Etex Roodekop, Etex Roodekop (Berry) and Etex Cape Town.
More than 100 Etex teammates work at our site in Roodekop. Here you will find our largest Etex factory in South Africa. We mainly produce sustainable plasterboard-based building material and provide support services for Etex in South Africa and the world.

The goal of this project was to create a safe way for employees to exit the building if
there was a fire. We also had to ensure that the solution complies with the requirements
of part T of the National Building Regulations (NBR), issued in terms of the National
Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act No. 103 of 1977). These
regulations stipulate that any individual must have access to an escape door or passage
within 45 metres from his or her workstation. We also successfully converted the
specification for this project - a two-hour fire escape tunnel - to Etex material.
Our planet is dealing with colossal challenges, like resource scarcity and rapidly growing cities, and climate change poses a big problem for humanity, now and in the future. As a global force, we need to become proactive if we want to prevent a depleted world.
