We collaborated with the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) to transform the life of Ms. Puseletso Laestock and her children. Initially an academic project to find cost-effective and efficient ways of living has resulted in a structure that changed the life of a family living in Itireleng, Pretoria West. The PhD of Dr Emmanuel Nkambule, architecture department at TUT, focused on informal settlement upgrading along with this co-researcher Victor Mokaba. Dr Nkambule was approached by Sibusiso Mthembu, from Etex South Africa and informed him our modular alternative construction prototype, which they then donated to whim for his research. This resulted in helping Ms. Puseletso by building her a new home in only 8 days.
